Retire in Pooler, Georgia
SMART baby-boomers retire in Pooler, Georgia! The west coast is beautiful, but way too expensive for most folks planning a “fixed income” retirement. In the past, Florida was considered a retirement Mecca - but not today!..
“Top 8 Places to Retire” – Money Magazine
With rising real estate prices, increasing crime rates, frequent hurricanes and crowds of rude tourists at every turn, Florida is no longer the most desirable place for active seniors to live out their golden years. If you're like many Americans who find themselves leaving the high-stress "rat-race" for a low-stress post-retirement career, Pooler offers exceptional employment, business, art, consulting and leisure opportunities.
Services in Pooler, Georgia
As a centrally located “regional hub” – Pooler is just a short drive to thousands of world class businesses, services and healthcare providers. Metro Savannah is home to nearly every type of commercial enterprise imaginable. Modern conveniences are never far away, when you retire in Pooler, Georgia.
What can’t be found in Savannah, can be located in one of the numerous coastal empire communities. Most towns are experiencing rapid growth – with brand new, state of the art facilities built recently, under construction, or in the planning stages. Retire in Pooler and experience the re-birth of this "shining city on a hill."
In addition to Savannah’s prosperous satellite communities located in Chatham, Bryan, Effingham, Bulloch and Liberty counties – South Carolina's Jasper and Beaufort counties are located just minutes north of Pooler, off I-95 & highway 278. With several large cities and dozens of prosperous towns spanning northeastern Georgia and southeastern South Carolina, you’re sure to find services that deliver!
Because these seven “regional” counties combine to create an economic corridor with a population of approximately 500,000 - the nation’s “big money” investors have begun to take notice. The region is now considered large enough to sustain significant investment dollars from the country’s largest property development firms.
Pooler, Georgia's Gentle Climate
Blessed with an ideal “sun-belt” climate, the Savannah/Hilton Head Region is perfect for year-round golfing, boating, fishing, hiking and other outdoor activities. Zero annual snowfall means driving in winter is a safe – “low stress” experience. Our roads rarely experience potholes and your car won’t rust away from being driven on salted highways – like you'd experience in northern climates. Cruising to the local drug store, diner or doctor is nothing but fun in our neighborhood!
Because the Gulf Stream brings warm Atlantic Ocean water near our shores, you can take a dip at area beaches nearly anytime without a wet suit. It is even believed that hurricanes are deflected from our coastal region due to the concaved shape of our beautiful coastline. Another reason you’ll love our dimples!
Boomers Work in Pooler, Georgia
The majority of Savannah/Hilton Head's regional industry is located at Pooler’s doorstep. The area’s largest employers are just minutes away: Gulfstream (headquarters to the world’s largest business jet manufacturer, Georgia Ports (2nd busiest on the east coast), JCB (Joseph Cyril Bamford – 4th largest construction equipment manufacturer), and a sprawling local network of distribution centers and mammoth warehouse facilities highlight Pooler’s remarkable industrial complex.
The state of Georgia spent over $60 million in 2003 to develop 1,560 acres into the premier industrial “mega site” on the east coast. Originally built for DaimlerChrysler’s proposed Sprinter cargo van plant, the site has since remained unused. Lying at the well-traveled I-95 & I-16 corridor in Pooler, the site is expected to attract a major manufacturer within the next few years. State and local governments have turned down many offers to break the property into smaller parcels – remaining true to the original goal of landing one huge deal for a substantial manufacturing site, one that would employ thousands.
As it turns out, it was a blessing the van plant didn’t happen. As you know, DaimlerChrysler has split and the employment this new plant would have offered Pooler - would now be in jeopardy. Another reason it was a blessing in disguise is because in recent years, the entire region has experienced unprecedented and EXPLOSIVE growth. It is doubtful that Pooler could have properly managed the region's recent economic expansion, while supporting a new automotive industry with it's hundreds of associated suppliers. Perhaps, NOW is the “right time" for the mega site to be occupied. This would be another gift to the thousands of area baby boomers seeking business and employment opportunities.
Get ready for Pooler to explode with growth!..
