Her dancing at the disastrous Carthage Festival in 2004 was derided in the Arab media as "moving every possible part of her body including parts that have no muscles in them." Fake rumors about secret marriages have swirled around Haifa Wehbe هيفاء وهبي, and her real engagement to Saudi businessman Tariq Al Jafali fell apart when his family deemed that Haifa wasn't the marryin' kind.

At the 2004 London Lebanese Fashion show, for example, Haifa Wehbe هيفاء وهبي stole the spotlight when she wore a skin-tight dress that was more revealing than anything the show's models had on. Haifa Wehbe هيفاء وهبي has had nearly two decades of accomplishments. At 16, Haifa Wehbe won the title of Miss South Lebanon and has been a cover girl ever since. Since then, Haifa Wehbe become a total media personality, appearing on the show Al Wadi, and taking parts in the play In Kibir Ibnak and the movie Rasa' el Al Bahr.
Haifa Wehbe هيفاء وهبي is certainly famous in the Middle East. Haifa's many magazine appearances, concerts, and even a stint on the non-stop reality TV show Al Wadi (which she recently stormed off of in a huff), have kept her in the public eye. The BBC even enlisted Haifa to help promote learning English. Yet Haifa Wehbe هيفاء وهبي is still an unknown outside the Arab world; there doesn't even seem to be a standard English spelling of her name.
Haifa Wehbe's Natural Beauty
Haifa Wehbe هيفاء وهبي has the doe eyes and raven hair that would make her the model for any damsel out of the Arabian Nights. Haifa's pouty lips and pleasing curves, though, soften and balance her looks, so that she ultimately seems more like "the girl next door" (if you live in Beirut, anyway). Haifa Wehbe هيفاء وهبي may have an exotic look, but hers is an exoticism rooted in the fundamentals of beauty.
Now in her mid-30s, Haifa Wehbe doesn't seem to have lost any of the beauty that helped her win pageants since her teens. As recently as May 2005, Haifa Wehbe هيفاء وهبي won a "Beauty and Arts" Award at the International Petra Beauty Festival in Jordan. The judges, among experts from salons worldwide, explained that Haifa Wehbe represents "true Arab beauty."
Haifa Wehbe's Personal Style
Like many ex-Soviet citizens did in the early 1990s, Haifa Wehbe هيفاء وهبي has rejected the reserved apparel she was brought up with in favor of full-blown, western-style trashiness. No hijab for her -- instead, Haifa Wehbe's wardrobe consists of fake animal prints and fur, tight jeans, and low-cut tops and dresses that show off her cleavage.
Nevertheless, Haifa Wehbe's هيفاء وهبي style has a few Lebanese touches left in some of the patterns and designs she wears. Haifa Wehbe wears some eastern-inspired jewelry and has recently gotten into the business, selling her own line of jewelry featuring lots of gold and diamonds, and the letter H as her trademark.
